Higher studies in Philosophy began in Spain in 1845, and the Faculty of Philosophy of the Complutense University of Madrid was a pioneer at that time in teaching the Graduate degree in Philosophy; she was, moreover, one of the few to whom the right to issue the title of Doctor of Philosophy was reserved. For this reason, it has extensive experience in philosophical training, both fundamental and specialization and research in this field. Degree in Philosophy is offered by all the great university centers in the world, and it is considered fundamental in Western cultures because its graduates contribute to society with a permanent critical reflection on everything that constitutes the human sphere, from the which is knowledge itself and the conditions and ways in which it develops, up to everything that confers human being and action, linked, for example, to what is an anthropological, political, ethical, linguistic reflection, etc. of the man. All this is combined by Philosophy with a deep knowledge of the history of ideas, that is, of the process in which Humanity has been developing the ideas and principles that shape it today, which allows it, in turn.

Admission Requirements
To be admitted to this degree, you must meet the requirements for access to the University contemplated by current regulations: selectivity, International Baccalaureates, Validation agreements, access for people over 25 years of age, over 40 years of age, etc. You have all the details on the University Admissions page: ucm.es
In the case of non-native Spanish speakers, according to the Agreement of the Governing Council of January 29, 2019 (BOUC of February 7, 2019), which approves the Spanish language requirements for admission to Degree and Master's degree and linguistic/language skills, all students from non-Spanish-speaking countries or educational systems must prove a knowledge of Spanish according to the CEFR level B2, at the time of submitting the application for admission to the Degree.
