The Master's Degree in Virology is an official UCM master sponsored by the Spanish Society of Virology (SEV), implemented in the 2010-2011 academic year. It is the only official master that exists in Spain exclusively on Virology. It is an interfacultative master (with the participation of the Faculties of Biological Sciences, Pharmacy, Medicine and Veterinary Medicine). It is designed to train students who want to continue towards a doctorate in which this Science is an important part, or specialists in Virology for hospitals, pharmaceutical companies, etc. It is conceived so that the students carry out full time, in the morning (from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.) the final master's project in the laboratories with which it has an agreement and in the afternoon they attend theoretical classes that are taught from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. In the 2021-22 academic year, classes will begin on September 27 and the course will end on September 30, 2022 (for those students who do not complete the final master's project in July).

Admission Requirements

If you come from an EU country you must have a bachelor's degree from a Spanish university, or from a university in the European Higher Education Area (EHEA).

If you are a graduate from outside the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) you can access the university without the need to officially certify your degree, once the UCM has verified that your level of studies is equivalent to a bachelor's degree at a university in Spain. Access via this route does not in any case imply the official certification of your degree prior to starting your Masters course.
