The main objectives of this Master's Degree in Access to the Lawyer Profession derive directly from the provisions of Law 34/2006, since its article 1.2 establishes that "obtaining the professional title of lawyer in the manner determined by this law is necessary for the performance of legal assistance in those judicial and extrajudicial processes in which current regulations impose or authorize the intervention of a lawyer, and, in any case, to provide legal assistance or legal advice using the name of lawyer; all this without prejudice to compliance with any other requirements required by current regulations for the practice of law.” The offer of this university master's degree satisfies, therefore, an evident interest of Law graduates, who without completing these studies cannot access the Professional Bar Associations nor, therefore, the practice of Law; this is clear from article 1.4 of Law 34/2006, which provides that the professional title of lawyer will be essential for membership.

Admission Requirements

If you come from an EU country you must have a bachelor's degree from a Spanish university, or from a university in the European Higher Education Area (EHEA).

If you are a graduate from outside the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) you can access the university without the need to officially certify your degree, once the UCM has verified that your level of studies is equivalent to a bachelor's degree at a university in Spain. Access via this route does not in any case imply the official certification of your degree prior to starting your Masters course.
