The Complutense University of Madrid (UCM) has played a leading role in the development of Psychology in Spain. Although the university Degree in Psychology began at the end of the 1960s, at the Central University of Madrid (today UCM) there was already a Chair of Experimental Psychology in 1902 and, later, in 1953, a School of Psychology and Psychotechnics. where Psychology studies were studied for the first time with an official degree. This was the first step in the implementation of a degree in Psychology, which began in 1968 as a specialty of the studies of Philosophy and Letters at the UCM and at the University of Barcelona. Finally, in 1980, the first Faculty of Psychology in Spain was created at the UCM. Psychology has experienced great growth in recent years, both due to the number of practicing psychologists, and due to the enormous diversification of their functions in an increasing number of fields of professional activity (health, education, work, services social, sports, drug addiction, justice, traffic and road safety, emergencies, etc.).

Admission Requirements
To be admitted to this degree, you must meet the requirements for access to the University contemplated by current regulations: selectivity, International Baccalaureates, Validation agreements, access for people over 25 years of age, over 40 years of age, etc. You have all the details on the University Admissions page: ucm.es
In the case of non-native Spanish speakers, according to the Agreement of the Governing Council of January 29, 2019 (BOUC of February 7, 2019), which approves the Spanish language requirements for admission to Degree and Master's degree and linguistic/language skills, all students from non-Spanish-speaking countries or educational systems must prove a knowledge of Spanish according to the CEFR level B2, at the time of submitting the application for admission to the Degree.
