The general objective of the Master's Degree in Speech Therapy is to broaden the general and specific knowledge and skills acquired during the degree, providing new knowledge to students about the latest advances in the different fields of development of professional activity in the area of Speech Therapy as well as specific skills for research in this field. At the end of their studies, students will have acquired scientific knowledge, technical and instrumental requirements required by their professional activity in the area. On the other hand, the master will allow:

  • Design, implement and evaluate prevention programs for disorders of communication and language aimed at patients, professionals and centers.
  • Advise the families and the social environment of the users, favoring their participation and collaboration in speech therapy treatment.
  • Screen, evaluate and diagnose communication and language disorders and establish a prognosis of evolution.
  • Design and apply speech therapy intervention programs with the methods, more effective and appropriate techniques and resources, implementing when necessary alternative communication systems or adaptation techniques.
  • Assess the changes produced by the intervention, to correct, improve or maintain programs, thus optimizing their own professional performance.

Admission Requirements

If you come from an EU country you must have a bachelor's degree from a Spanish university, or from a university in the European Higher Education Area (EHEA). 

If you are a graduate from outside the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) you can access the university without the need to officially certify your degree, once the UCM has verified that your level of studies is equivalent to a bachelor's degree at a university in Spain. Access via this route does not in any case imply the official certification of your degree prior to starting your Masters course.
