The Graduate Program (PPG) in Experimental and Comparative Pathology (PEC) is linked to the Pathology Department of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science (FMVZ) of the University of São Paulo (USP).

The Program's operation was authorized by the USP Chamber of Graduate Studies in 1978, both at the master's and doctoral levels. The Program has grade 6 at CAPES and offers its students research grants, both at the master's and doctoral levels, offered by CAPES, CNPq and FAPESP.

The PPG-PEC selects students with different backgrounds in the biological field, as it has a strong interaction with different areas of basic research such as pathology, pharmacology, toxicology, biochemistry, immunology, microbiology, parasitology and cell biology; as well as areas of applied research, highlighting: production, reproduction and animal nutrition; animal behavior; environmental pathology; pathology of wild animals; veterinary oncology, veterinary forensic medicine and cell therapy.
