The PPGEE is an academic program focused on the generation and integration of knowledge in electrical engineering. It comprises a set of programmed, advanced, individualized research activities monitored by an advisor, including and prioritizing teaching and research. Through the training of masters and doctors, the PPGEE aims both to provide a solid scientific and technological training to future researchers, as well as to improve the higher level teaching staff that works in Electrical Engineering and in associated areas in Brazil and also abroad, mainly in equities in Latin America.

It is the objective of the PPGEE to contribute to the Brazilian scientific and technological development, through the work of its faculty and researchers in the development of innovative solutions for scientific and technological problems of regional and national interest. An intense interaction with similar national and foreign entities, necessary for the proper development of research, both at the level of basic research and, mainly, of applied research, aims to achieve the most important, substantial and comprehensive objective of the PPGEE, which is constituted in itself development of our country, in the broadest possible sense.
