The Graduate Course in Pharmacology, linked to the Institute of Biomedical Sciences of the University of São Paulo (ICB/USP), was created in December 1977 by Ordinance GR-1507, at the Master's level, and accredited in 1981 by the Federal Council of Education. On June 9 of that same year, the course was instituted at the Doctorate level, through Ordinances GR-885 and GR-1538.
Since its inception, the Program's main goal has been to unite research at the forefront of knowledge in Pharmacology and related areas, as well as to train highly qualified and capable researchers for the development of independent and innovative research in the various areas of Life Sciences. Health.
The Graduate Program in Pharmacology has the institutional support of CAPES, CNPq, FAPESP and the Dean of Research at USP (through the Research Support Centers - NAPs) in the promotion of scholarships for Masters, Doctorate, Post-Doctorate and productivity in research, in addition to financing projects, scientific initiation and scientific pre-initiation. The NAPs have been a very strong incentive for internationalization and technological innovation.
