The PPG-IBCMV is an International Graduate Program in which the differential is the total incentive for student mobility in different International Institutions, combined with language and culture training. These characteristics give the Program a true international status and allow qualified and prepared participants to be exposed to different academic environments. Professionals who graduate from this environment of excellence and graduates with a global vision are expected to be able to acquire core competence at the highest level, exercising academic, scientific and technological leadership in their areas of expertise.

Our students are interested in research related to plant genetics ranging from cultivated, native or model species, including polyploids, as well as the molecular aspects of their interaction with microorganisms. The program's professors work in the following areas of knowledge: Quantitative Genetics and Plant Breeding; Statistical Genetics, Microbial Genetics, Genomics and Bioinformatics, Cytogenomics and Epigenetics, Molecular Genetics of Plants, Evolutionary Biology, Physiological Genetics and Biochemistry, Bioenergy and more recently Systems Biology.
