The constant advances in knowledge about the complexity of the Human Genome bring ethical implications to the families of patients with genetic diseases and numerous contributions to Genetic Counseling. Genetic Counseling (GA) is a set of multidisciplinary procedures whose objective is to provide information related to the occurrence and recurrence of genetic diseases. This process is expected to transmit information about genetic diseases that will help families in 1) understanding the diagnosis, probable course of the disease and available treatments. 2) understanding of how heredity contributes to the origin of the disease and the risk of recurrence. 3) understanding of the alternatives to face the problems related to the risk of recurrence. 4) choosing an appropriate action in view of your ethical and religious standards. 5) adaptation to problems resulting from the presence of the disease or the risk of recurrence of the disease in the family. Therefore, as a result of this process, it is expected that all these facts will be understood by the consultants and their families, which will allow them to make conscious and informed decisions.
