The Computer Science course studies the development of systems for multiple platforms and the construction of computational solutions to society's problems. Graduated bachelors work with the different stages and approaches of software development and are prepared to solve real problems, applying solutions that unite theory and practice. Modeling databases, developing and implementing software projects and proposing efficient and economical computational solutions are just some of its activities.

With the growing demand for professionals in the area and the excellence of training at IME/USP, graduates do not find it difficult to enter this market. Computer and telecommunications companies, consultancies, government agencies, the financial market and Web systems are just a few segments that directly depend on the bachelor's degree in Computer Science. Several graduates also undertake and set up their own businesses, while others continue in their academic careers and go on to master's and doctoral degrees, becoming researchers at universities and companies.

The market is not the only attraction of the IME baccalaureate. The course provides a series of complements to academic training, such as international exchanges, research activities and projects and numerous events, conferences and seminars. The range of options offered is, in large part, based on the structure of USP, which also has several cultural activities (exhibitions, plays, films, debates, concerts and other free activities) and sports (USP has a club that can be used by all students), in addition to social programs.
