Students on the Finance and Business course will be prepared to work in environments in which decision-making must combine economic rationality with an understanding of finance theories and the interpretation of economic-financial information. The theoretical and practical understanding of the interrelationships between the areas of accounting and economic knowledge provides the development of skills necessary to detect, diagnose and propose solutions for economic-financial problems characteristic of organizations and the financial market. Thus, the most important differentiating aspect of this graduate is the interdisciplinary and complementary view of economics and accounting that will determine their ability to act, mainly, in private organizations, within the scope of economic and financial decisions.

This proposal for student training opens up a range of alternatives for professional activities. There is a natural ability to work in the financial market in general, as a portfolio manager, investment analyst, trader , private banking etc. Corporations in general, financial institutions, investment brokers and consultancies are great demanders of these professionals. Some alternatives for action are: financial manager; investment analyst; CFO; portfolio and equity investment analyst, credit analysis, risk analysis, treasury manager. As an example, a portfolio and stock investment analyst needs to assess the economic situation, the company's current financial situation, project scenarios and future results based on the trend of business evolution, assess risks and determine a target price for the stock, considering including environmental and social variables.
