This course aims to train a multidisciplinary professional with the scientific and entrepreneurial skills necessary to work in different areas of research and in Biotechnology companies, such as in the production of vaccines, drugs, antibodies, as well as food, agricultural inputs and biofuels, among others, sustainably exploring the vast biodiversity present in the country.

In addition, this course intends to fill a gap, at USP, of a direct entry undergraduate course in Biotechnology and, thus, the EACH should contribute to the training of human resources in this area, collaborating to comply with the National Policy for the Development of Biotechnology, established by the Federal Government in Decree No. 6,041/2007, of 08/02/2007 and also with the development of the state of São Paulo, the largest biotechnology center in the country.

The School of Arts, Sciences and Humanities (EACH) is one of the youngest schools at USP. It has a unique organizational structure and is not divided into academic departments. The aim of the School is to prepare professionals and researchers to develop a complex vision of society, culture and science.
