In a multidepartmental and multidisciplinary environment, the Graduate Program in Agricultural Microbiology seeks to train professionals at master's and doctoral levels, being one of the most traditional graduate programs at the "Luiz de Queiroz" School of Agriculture, campus of University of São Paulo, in Piracicaba, SP, Brazil. Its professionals are prepared for careers in microbiological teaching and research, in a supportive and collaborative environment that encourages innovation.

The improvement of intellectual training, promoting training in Microbiology aimed at Agricultural Sciences to generate knowledge, incentives for research and higher education, related to the understanding of animal, plant and microbial cell systems, using in vivo and in vitro methodologies; application of knowledge developed with cellular systems to improve processes, products and services; contribute with methodologies and knowledge related to the environment and to monitor the quality and food safety of products, processes and services made available to society.
