The Graduate Program in Music (PPGMUS) has sought to strengthen and integrate artistic production and research activities, seeking greater interaction with national and foreign researchers and institutions. It currently offers master's and doctoral courses in two areas of concentration:

  1. Musicology, which includes the lines of research: a) Music theory and analysis b) Musicology and Ethnomusicology.
  2. Processes of Musical Creation with lines of research a) Performance b) Interpretive questions c) Music and education: processes of creation, teaching and learning d) Sonology: creation and sound production.

The Program aims to offer music professionals, teachers and researchers training that qualifies them to act in a critical and reflective manner, with an emphasis on the artistic specificity of the area.
