The agronomist works in all stages of the agricultural production process, from planning to processing and commercialization of products of animal and vegetable origin, respecting the management and sustainable use of natural resources. He is responsible for teaching, research, technology transfer and management activities in the areas of biotechnology, agroindustry, biosystems engineering and agricultural economics, administration and sociology.

The course offers the student basic subjects in the areas of exact, biological and human sciences such as calculus, statistics, physics, chemistry, biochemistry, genetics, botany, zoology, animal and plant physiology, and professional courses such as the production of food, energy, fibrous and ornamentals, plant nutrition and fertilization, pest management, animal production, biotechnology, processing of agricultural products, meteorology, agricultural machinery and implements, irrigation and drainage, topography and geoprocessing, rural constructions, economics and agricultural administration and management, rural extension , soil classification and conservation, ecology and environmental management of rural properties.
