The Bachelor of Applied Mathematics course at IME-USP is offered during the day and has twenty vacancies for freshmen each year. The course was structured in such a way as to offer a good basic education in mathematics, with disciplines in Calculus, Linear Algebra, Statistics, Computing, Mathematical Modeling and Fundamentals of Numerical Analysis to be taken over the first two years. At the end of the third semester, the student must choose one of the qualification areas offered for the course:

  • Qualification in Biological Sciences (IB)
  • Qualification in Systems and Control (EP)
  • Qualification in Control and Automation (EP)
  • Qualification in Mathematical Methods (IME)

The final two years of the course are dedicated to complementing the student's mathematical training and the specific area of ​​their qualification. In addition to taking courses in the area of ​​their qualification, the student must prepare a graduation work over the last year, under the guidance of a teaching supervisor. Through this you will acquire practical experience in the application of mathematical methods to the solution of problems in a specific area.
