The course's mission will be to train physicians with the capacity to work in individual and collective care, with social responsibility and commitment to the defense of citizenship, human dignity, the integral health of the human being at different levels of health care, with actions to promote, prevention, recovery and rehabilitation, through humanistic, critical, reflective and ethical attitudes.

The curriculum will be in line with national public policies and focused on regional needs in medical education, health, science and technology.

The learning process will take place through the definition of learning axes with management focused on the integration of basic and applied science content, with the definition of methods and practice scenarios, evaluation of student, professors and collaborators' performance and the axes .

The course will have a pedagogical project centered on the student as the subject of learning and supported by the professor as a facilitator and mediator of the process, with a view to the integral and adequate formation of the student. Therefore, methodologies that provide the student's active participation in the construction of knowledge and integration between contents will be privileged, ensuring the inseparability of teaching, research and extension.
