The Graduate Program in Restorative Dentistry at the Faculty of Dentistry of Ribeirão Preto (FORP-USP) began in 1997. Initially, CAPES recommended the Master's Course (Process No. 95.1.4653.1.6) in the areas of concentration in Endodontics and Dentistry and, in 2003, the Doctorate Course (Process nº 01.1.32828.1.5). By the end of 2020, 191 masters and 81 doctors were awarded, among which 08 foreign students from Central America (Mexico), South America (Peru and Bolivia) and Europe (United Kingdom and Portugal) stand out. Currently, the Program has 44 students enrolled (17 master's and 27 doctoral students), 05 of whom are foreign students (Paraguay, El Salvador and Portugal).

Throughout its trajectory, the Program has improved its lines of research and encouraged the faculty to prepare and submit Research Projects to funding agencies. The acquired benefits have favored the acquisition and modernization of the infrastructure and the equipment park of the 06 laboratories that serve the Graduate Program. As a result of the Program's progressive development, the increase in publications in journals with international impact stands out, as well as in citations of articles, which demonstrates the consolidation of scientific production linked to the Program's research lines and projects. This evolution is also reflected in the faculty, in which five professors with CNPq research productivity grants stand out (2 grant holders 1A, 1 grant holder 1B, 1 grant holder 1D and 1 grant holder 2).
