The course aims to train ethical, autonomous and critical jurists, with solid humanistic training and a vocation for scientific research, contextualized in contemporary issues and challenges and able to work in multidisciplinary teams in the various fields of law, especially in the areas of human rights and the environment rural and urban.
From the point of view of competences and abilities, the Bachelor of Law must be able to assimilate and understand the demands of the community, in order to allow the open normative system to dialogue with the environment in which it operates, with a view to the realization of the republican and democratic foundations of the Brazilian State, constitutionally foreseen, with emphasis on:
- Solid training in traditional areas of law;
- Ability to create and interpret empirical data on the regional and national context that allow the formulation, implementation and evaluation of public policies;
- Ability to recognize demands from interest groups, minorities, socio-environmental and sovereignty issues, as well as the market economy and its many forms of relationship with the Law;
- Training as a researcher and educator in Law, at levels of quality and excellence compatible with the Institutional Development Plan of the University of São Paulo;
- Application of theoretical knowledge in everyday professional situations in a critical way, both in the public and private sectors, in the contentious and advisory plans and in the collective and individual dimensions;
- Appreciation and respect for cultural diversity and consolidation of democratic values and human rights.
