The Graduate Program in Visual Arts (PPGAV) aims to produce and promote research in the field of Visual Arts, in order to guarantee the necessary interface between theory and practice; consolidate the formation of an axis of creation and reflection; and train qualified professionals for production and teaching. The performance of PPGAV professors is concentrated in two areas:
- Visual Poetics, which favors the study of ways of operating, within the scope of the project and process of the work of art and
- Theory, Teaching and Learning of Art, which develops studies and research projects in theory, history, art criticism and fundamentals of artistic learning, aiming at understanding the artistic phenomenon at the levels of production, perception and placement. It has two lines of research: History, Criticism and Theory of Art and Fundamentals of Art Teaching and Learning.
