Since its inception in 1970, the Graduate Program in Chemistry has trained more than 2000 Masters and Doctors with a solid base of theoretical and practical knowledge in Chemistry. Currently, the Program has 240 students and more than 60 advisors.

Chemistry is one of the most important areas of scientific research, contributing decisively to technological advances in frontier areas such as nanotechnology, drug design, materials and environmental chemistry. Our program has a tradition of four decades and continues to be the training/radiating center characterized by the greatest diversity of lines of research, generating a unique environment that favors the formation of highly qualified human resources. The more than 40 research laboratories have modern instrumentation and an  Analytical Center  considered a reference in the country. 

The interested student can enroll in the Master's, Direct Doctorate and Doctorate after Master's Courses. The Program has the maximum evaluation (Grade 7) by Capes.
