The Stricto Sensu Postgraduate Program in Mathematics (PPGM), Academic Master's modality, has the general objective of providing qualified academic training to professionals interested and committed to the advancement and dissemination of knowledge in Mathematics, allowing them to: technical-scientific order in the area of ​​Higher Mathematics; exercise teaching activities at undergraduate and graduate levels; and continue studies at the doctoral level in any graduate program in the country or abroad, in the area of ​​Mathematics or in related areas.

The PPGM covers two areas of concentration: Pure Mathematics and Applied Mathematics and has the following lines of research: Harmonic Analysis and Partial Differential Equations, Abstract Functional Differential Equations, Smooth Partly Dynamical Systems, Mathematical Economics and Statistics. In addition to professors from the Department of Computing and Mathematics - DCM, professors from the Faculty of Economics, Administration and Accounting - FEARP of USP in Ribeirão Preto participate, which reinforce the line of research in Mathematical Economics and Statistics and provide post-graduate training -graduation to graduates of the graduation course “Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics Applied to Business at DCM.
