The Plant Physiology and Biochemistry Program began in 1988 and, since then, has been training professionals in this area of ​​knowledge, with the objective of training highly qualified human resources for research and teaching in Physiology and Biochemistry, emphasizing the understanding of physiological processes, biochemical and molecular factors involved with plant development. The lines of research are: a) Anatomy and plant development; b) Biochemistry and molecular biology of plants and c) Physiology of plants. 

The scope is to provide an excellent theoretical-practical educational environment for the training of human resources capable of producing and disseminating innovative information with scientific, social and economic impact in the area of ​​Plant Physiology and Biochemistry and that help in the practice of Sustainable Agriculture.
