The evening course of Degree in Exact Sciences (qualifications: Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics) is offered in co-responsibility with the Institute of Physics of São Carlos (IFSC) and the Institute of Mathematics and Computing Sciences (ICMC). This course, which began its activities in 1993, lasts four years and offers fifty vacancies per year through an entrance exam organized by FUVEST.

The main objective of the course is to train qualified teachers to teach Science in Elementary School and to teach Chemistry, Physics or Mathematics in Secondary Education. The basic core of this course extends to the third year and aims at the general training of future teachers. In the first three years, students take pedagogical subjects, the fundamental ones in the areas of Chemistry, Biology, Physics and Mathematics, and subjects through which they will develop skills aimed at the interpretation, critical analysis and production of didactic texts and which involve techniques of communication and text editing (including the Portuguese language and the use of computers and dedicated programs).
