The Bachelor of Meteorology course is held during the day and has an ideal duration of 10 semesters (maximum period from admission in 2014: 15 semesters). Students receive versatile training, with a solid basis in Physics and Statistics, and encompassing the various areas of meteorologist activity.

Upon completion of the course, the meteorologist can enter graduate school or work in areas such as weather forecasting, air quality, water resources and agrometeorology. In Brazil, the profession of meteorologist is regulated by federal law.

The Bachelor's Degree in Meteorology at IAG/USP was created in 1977. Since then, more than 250 meteorologists have graduated from the Institute. Admission to the course takes place through selection processes and, as in all undergraduate courses at the University of São Paulo, there is no monthly fee.
