Bearing in mind the demands and expectations regarding the development of the health sector in the Midwest of São Paulo, as well as the national curriculum guidelines for undergraduate courses in Speech Therapy, the profile of the speech therapist formed by FOB/USP is that of a generalist professional, with the ability to integrate the different areas of activity, having a view of the whole of the subject, considering their social and family context, and also, with the ability to work in a team.
Within the pedagogical dimension, the course has the following objectives:
- Strengthen the link between theory and practice, by valuing individual and collective research, as well as internships and participation in extension activities.
- Stimulate independent study practices, aiming at the student's progressive professional and intellectual autonomy.
- Develop the skills and competencies described in the course mission, not only in the academic setting, but also in other practice settings.
