The Graduate Program in Zoology at the Institute of Biosciences of the University of São Paulo has as its main mission the training of PhDs and Masters in Zoology with an integrated view of biological diversity. Therefore, our proposal is to provide: (1) a solid theoretical, practical and analytical instrumentation; and (2) an intellectually stimulating environment that fosters independence and critical thinking.

The master or doctor who graduated from our course will be able to multiply this vision, awakening interest in zoological research, which will be reflected in the improvement of knowledge about our biological diversity, as well as in the planning and application of conservation strategies.

In the Graduate Program in Zoology, we advise, teach and research in several interconnected areas: natural history, comparative anatomy, developmental biology, taxonomy, the study of kinship relationships, biogeography and phylogeography, behavioral ecology , and conservation biology. The high level of research developed by the program's master's and doctoral students is a consequence of the commitment that the Graduate Program in Zoology at IB/USP has with the training of its students.
