The Journalism course, offered at the Department of Journalism and Publishing (CJE), aims to train professionals capable of working in all areas of news dissemination and advising on communication processes between companies and the external public, in any of the functions covered by the market – from capturing the fact to its publication.
The course seeks to develop in the student not only the technical and theoretical knowledge indispensable for the exercise of the profession, but also notions of ethics that will guide their actions in any scope of their performance in the labor market, seeking to promote, also, an empathetic professional posture with the different audiences that will consume your informative production.
The graduation is characterized by its large amount of laboratory experiences, which involve the student in the whole process of making journalism, whether with the production of a community newspaper, the campus newspaper or articles for a news agency. Students also produce radio, television, internet and other journalistic activities that are not necessarily linked to news production, such as organizational communication and press relations.
