The Mining Engineering course at the Escola Politécnica trains professionals to work in all segments of the mineral production chain: prospecting, economic evaluation, mining, treatment, recovery, reuse of waste and environmental recovery of the exploited area. The student also becomes able to work in projects and construction of tunnels and underground excavations, treatment and disposal of industrial waste, prospecting and mining of water, in collaboration with professionals from other areas of Engineering. In addition to mining companies, professionals in this area can work in engineering and consulting companies, research institutes and government agencies.
The Polytechnic School, committed to the sustainable development of the country and the planet, with the practice of citizenship and with ethical, social, economic and environmental responsibility, has as its mission to train professionals in Engineering with scientific and technical excellence, who can become innovative leaders and entrepreneurs, carry out research, disseminate and preserve knowledge, and provide services of high relevance and impact to society, nationally and internationally.
