The Graduate Program in International Relations at the University of São Paulo (Masters and Doctorate) was approved by CAPES in July 2008. The Program aims to be a national and international reference center in research and teaching, dedicated to training researchers high-level professionals, as well as professionals to work in institutions that require specialized knowledge in international relations, such as higher education institutions, international organizations, the diplomatic service or other government agencies, research and planning bodies, private companies and trade associations and civil society organizations.
The Program seeks to develop, with foreign centers with outstanding production in international relations, a continuous program of exchange of professors and students and double-degree agreements.
Of a multidisciplinary nature, the Program is organized around three lines of research: International Political Economy, Foreign Policy and Institutions and Governance and History of International Relations. All lines allow the inclusion of researchers from the four areas of knowledge (political science, law, economics and history), as they are defined by thematic areas and not by methodological or disciplinary criteria.
