The Graduate Program in Phytotechnics (PPG Fitotecnia) at USP/Esalq was created in 1968, initially at the Master's level, and from 1986 onwards at the Doctorate level.

It aims to train highly qualified professionals for the areas of Teaching and Research in Phytotechnics (plant production).

The PPG Fitotecnia has a high insertion rate of its graduates in the public and private sectors. The faculty is dedicated to training professionals of excellence (with an emphasis on developing Science and Technology with high ethical values) who meet the growing demands of society and the productive sector for the development of sustainable agriculture.

The graduate program in Plant Science provides: (i) training professionals of excellence responsible and committed to the mission of developing Science and Technology consistent with reality, and (ii) developing basic and applied research of excellence transforming scientific knowledge in the area of Agricultural Sciences in wealth for the common good, in line with the ethical, social, environmental and economic values ​​of society that aim at the practice of Sustainable Agriculture.

Admission to the program will take place through a selection process standardized by a specific public notice to be prepared by the CCP and periodically published in the Official Gazette of the State of São Paulo and on the program's website on the internet.
