The Graduate Program (PPG) in Experimental Epidemiology applied to Zoonoses was created in 1983 with only the Master's course. In 1988 the doctoral course was created.

Currently, more than 300 masters and 187 doctors have been awarded the program, of which 35 are foreigners belonging to 17 nationalities.

We have double degree agreements with European universities and the first student with a double degree defended his thesis in 2015.

The program, considered of excellence by CAPES in the area of ​​veterinary medicine, has its academic activities developed in two campuses  (São Paulo and Pirassununga).

There are eight laboratories on the São Paulo  campus and two more in Pirassununga, one of which belongs to the Faculty of Animal Science and Food Engineering.
