Biomedical Informatics is an area of ​​knowledge that studies and seeks the effective use of public data, information and knowledge for scientific research, problem solving and decision making, to improve human health supported by technologies applied to Digital Health. Its areas of application cover a wide spectrum, ranging from cell biology and molecular genetics, to processes of care and attention to the health of the individual and the population. With regard to the field of action, the Bachelor of Biomedical Informatics is a professional with competence to lead the planning, development, implementation, maintenance and management of computerized environments. Due to its interdisciplinary training, with a strong component of applying knowledge from the areas of exact sciences, biological sciences, health sciences and information sciences in problem solving, the Bachelor of Biomedical Informatics is prepared to act as a reference professional for the use of Information and Communication Technologies in the clinical environment, as well as in research environments focused on the development of technological solutions for the health area.
