The graduate program in Applied Mathematics at the Institute of Mathematics and Statistics of the University of São Paulo (IME-USP) has offered master's and doctoral courses since its creation in 1970. More than 200 masters and a hundred doctors. The program has about 25 permanent professors, in addition to several collaborators. The permanent faculty has a highly qualified and diversified background, having obtained their titles in top institutions in Brazil and abroad (USP, Unicamp, IMPA, UFMG, Cornell, CUNY, NYU, Rutgers, Georgia Tech, Brown, Bremen, Berlin, Bonn, Birmingham, Nancy I). Among the areas in which the program's researchers work, the following stand out: Partial and Ordinary Differential Equations (Dynamic Systems, Ergodic Theory, PDEs and Complex Analysis),

The objective of the program is to train researchers, professors and professionals in the area of ​​mathematics and its applications, at the master's and doctoral levels. Qualified students also have the possibility to do a direct doctorate (without a master's degree) and participate in sandwich doctoral programs, with a one- to two-year internship abroad as part of the program. The vast majority of students in the program are awarded scholarships from official development institutions such as CAPES and CNPq. Students enjoy an excellent research environment at USP's Institute of Mathematics and Statistics, with good facilities, an excellent library and computational laboratories.
