The Professional Master's Program in Educational Science Projects PPGPE/EEL-USP constitutes a form of professional and continuing education aimed at teaching professionals. This is a training modality at the stricto sensu postgraduate level, consisting of studies, works and research activities applied to professional practice open to candidates who have graduated from higher education courses and who meet the requirements of educational institutions and the student selection notice (Art. 44, III, Law nº 9.394/1996). At the end of the course, the student will obtain a diploma.
It assumes its own characteristics as it differentiates itself :
- of extension courses lato sensu, whose particularities are foreseen in the Law of Guidelines and Bases (9394/1996) and point out that these should be open to the participation of the population, aiming at the dissemination of achievements and benefits resulting from cultural creation and scientific research and technology generated in the institution. The Dean of Culture and University Extension ( www.prceu.usp.br ) is the administrative body responsible for offering and managing university extension courses and activities in their most diverse modalities, following specific regulations. With a minimum duration of 360 hours, at the end of the course the student will obtain a certificate and not a diploma.
- of the academic master's degree, which, as indicated by CAPES, is essentially aimed at training for an academic career, as provided in the LDBE of 1996 and the PNE of 2014.
The Professional Master's course proposed here should prioritize, in the training process, school and pedagogical practices in basic education and the performance of professionals in the scope of educational public policies, fundamentally in the management, planning and evaluation of schools and teaching systems.
