The Graduate Program in Animal Bioscience (PPGBIO) is the newest program at FZEA-USP, which was approved by the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES) in March 2013. The PPGBIO started its activities with the Master's and Doctorate courses, both with a score of 4 CAPES.
PPGBIO is inserted in the great area of Agricultural Sciences, area of Veterinary Medicine together with CAPES. However, this program differs from others linked to the area of Veterinary Medicine, as it aims not only to encourage research in established areas, such as animal reproduction, genetic improvement and public health, but also to promote the insertion of several professionals with other backgrounds (biologists, biodoctors, zootechnicians, pharmacists, among others), mainly leveraging multidisciplinary areas, such as the development of innovative therapies, pre-clinical drug studies and advances in studies on bioagents.
