The forest engineer works with renewable natural resources from the forest. It operates in the development of implantation projects, restoration, management, conservation and forest exploitation, processing, development and industrialization of products from natural and planted forests. His activity seeks to reconcile production with the conservation of natural resources.

The course offers the student basic disciplines in the areas of exact and biological sciences such as calculus, physics, biochemistry, cellular biology, genetics, botany and zoology; general professional courses such as climate-plant interaction, microbiology, soils, agricultural machinery, sociology and rural construction; specific professional courses such as the production of forest seeds and seedlings, planting planning, harvesting and forest transport, industrialization of forest products, study of laws and public policies related to Brazilian forests, conversation and rational use of native forests.
