The Graduate Program (PPG) in Ophthalmology, Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery and Speech Therapy at the Ribeirão Preto Medical School of the University of São Paulo (FMRP-USP) was started in 2003, with the aim of training teachers and researchers and expand the production of scientific knowledge in the area, through academic innovation and integration between clinical and experimental research.
The general objective of the PPG is the training of highly qualified researchers and professors combined with the production of qualified and recognized knowledge in the fields of ophthalmology, otorhinolaryngology, head and neck surgery and speech therapy, through disciplines and cutting-edge scientific research at an international level.
To this end, the following specific objectives are pursued:
- Train students at different levels for the development of scientific research, dissemination of knowledge and quality teaching, from a theoretical and practical point of view, aiming at nucleation and within a globalized perspective;
- Produce new knowledge and increase the quality of scientific research in areas related to PPG;
- Promote the critical discussion of subjects related to PPG specialties, within the scientific and public health spheres, from a multidisciplinary perspective.
