The Diversitas – Diversity, Intolerance and Conflict Studies Nucleus, formed by different specialties in the fields of the humanities in general, is an academic reference center in the studies of intolerance, cultural diversity and human rights. In accordance with the healthy principle of interdisciplinarity, its researchers are dedicated to topics such as the right to life, freedoms, the cultural construct in its diversity, dignified assistance, good living and good living. The concern to establish a continuous dialogue with knowledge derived from the experience of the population that inhabits different regions of the country is a constant in his production. Its objectives are concentrated on the study of phenomena analyzed by different approaches involving professors from the many Units of USP articulated on three fronts: 1) redefinition of the conceptual field of debates on intolerance/tolerance in a new approach – diversities – as this concept is epistemologically based in an interdisciplinary perspective; 2) development of research related to contemporary conflicts in national and international spaces and the need to reconfigure political-legal structures to encompass the different legitimacies arising from the limits of established law; 3) implementation of the studies and research carried out in Diversitas to the Graduate Program – Humanities, Rights and Other Legitimacies created by the Nucleus researchers.
