The objectives of School Psychology and Human Development are:
- development of knowledge in the field of School Psychology and Human Development;
- training of professors and researchers who can not only propose and forward solutions to empirical and/or theoretical problems specific to these areas of knowledge, but also respond to social demands and, in this sense, contribute to the elaboration and implementation of public policies in the areas of Education, Health, Social Assistance and Human Rights;
- to strengthen student and faculty actions for the expansion and consolidation of research and its dissemination, so that they perform, with quality and rigor, the formative, academic and social tasks that constitute the role of the researcher in the areas of Psychology, Education, Social Work, Social Sciences, Philosophy, and other related sciences in their specific field of knowledge;
- articulate and carry out joint actions with research groups from different teaching and research institutions, aiming at expanding research in the areas delimited above, stimulating academic exchange and improving training, nationally and internationally.
