The Interunit Postgraduate Program in Integration of Latin America – PROLAM/USP is thematic and interdisciplinary. It is made up of professors from the University of São Paulo who carry out research, teaching and extension activities on theoretical and practical aspects of the different dimensions of Latin America's integration processes.

The methodological guideline is outlined by the Program's Postgraduate Commission around three research axes in the area of ​​humanities and applied social sciences:  Society ,  Economy and State; International Relations and Political Practices; Communication and Culture . Each line of research, in turn, is composed of two research projects, namely:  Communication and Culture – Communication in Latin America; and Artistic production and cultural criticism in Latin America; Society, Economy and State – Public policies in the field of work, education and health, and Urbanization, metropolitanization and urban management in Latin America; and Political Practices and International Relations  – Political relations and practices in Latin America; and International Relations.

PROLAM/USP's mission is to produce knowledge about the Latin American reality under the social, economic, political, educational and cultural dimensions through comparative methodology applied to at least two Latin American countries or on a theme common to the countries Of region.
