The Bachelor of Astronomy course has an ideal duration of 8 semesters (maximum term: 12 semesters) and is carried out in the daytime period. The curriculum includes a strong base in Physics and Mathematics and practical activities in laboratories and observatories.

Bachelors in Astronomy can continue their studies in graduate school or enter the job market in observatories, research institutes, government agencies and advanced technology companies, in addition to scientific dissemination and computing activities.

The Bachelor of Astronomy course was created in 2009 and lasts 8 semesters. As in all undergraduate courses at the University of São Paulo, admission is made through selection processes and there is no monthly fee.

The curriculum has a strong basis in Physics and Mathematics, but it is also flexible and multidisciplinary, allowing for different professional paths. Classes are taught by PhD professors from the IAG and also from the USP Institutes of Physics (IF) and Mathematics and Statistics (IME). During graduation, the student is continuously monitored by an academic advisor (tutor).
