The Materials Engineering trains an engineer with a profile to work in the area of research and development of materials with technological application with an inter and multidisciplinary view of the traditional areas of Materials Engineering: Metallurgy, Ceramics, Polymers and Composites. Materials engineers study the relationship between the structure, properties and performance of materials, with a view to obtaining new applications or improving the quality of existing materials. From the car to the kitchen utensils, from the cell phone to the fabrics of the clothes, practically everything has the intervention of a materials engineering professional.

The Escola de Engenharia de Lorena – EEL-USP is constantly evolving, bringing its students the best structure and best practices for an excellent education in all its courses. This infrastructure, including the pilot plants, in addition to the DEMAR Graduate Program laboratories, contributes to the great differential of the EEL Materials Engineering course in relation to other courses in the country. As a support to the student, EEL-USP has inter-area transportation, university restaurant, pro-student room (laboratory of pedagogical support of Information and Communication Technologies), experience center and library.
