The education of the pedagogue must include the investigation and understanding of the general problems of school and non-school institutions and their professional selves. In this sense, the course should offer initiation to the investigative and critical activity of practices, culture and school knowledge, necessary for the training of professionals prepared to face the challenges of a society with complex and changing educational demands.
As a result of this need, the objectives of the Full Degree in Pedagogy course are in line with the objectives of the other undergraduate courses at the University of São Paulo, those of the USP Teacher Training Program (PFP-USP) and, strictly, to the objectives of this institution, based on the constant search for articulation and inseparability between teaching, research and extension activities, namely:
- broad development of the student, so that he/she understands and thinks analytically and critically about the different phenomena of human, natural and social order, adopting coherent postures;
- systematization of knowledge historically produced by humanity and construction of new knowledge;
- training of professionals who are socially committed to different areas of knowledge.
