If you like farms and animal husbandry, Zootechnics is your profession. Zootechnics was regulated by Law 5550, of 04/12/68, being a profession that integrates the area of ​​Agricultural Sciences.

The Zootechnician is a professional with a solid base of scientific knowledge, prepared to act in the management, research or assistance to different animal production systems, adding values ​​and optimizing the use of potentially available resources and social, environmental and economically adaptable technologies.

The field of action of this professional has an important component in the nutrition, management and genetic improvement of domestic and wild animals. However, the attributions of the Zootechnician extrapolate the borders of the rural properties, being demanded, more and more, knowledge about the dynamics of the agricultural market, processing and quality of products of animal origin, as well as, planning, administration and technical-financial assistance of companies public and private. His training also allows him to work in teaching and research institutions and breeder associations, among others.

The Zootechnics course is offered full-time, lasting nine academic semesters and one semester of supervised curricular internship.
